Role Overview

VayuZon is hiring a Backend Developer with 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot to design, build, and maintain reliable server-side systems for our products and client projects.

You will own backend modules end to end - from API design and database modelling to deployment on AWS - while writing clean, testable, production-grade code and collaborating closely with frontend, QA, and product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Model relational database schemas, write efficient queries, and manage migrations with tools like Flyway or Liquibase.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure data handling across services.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and internal microservices with proper error handling and retries.
  • Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot services on AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) and containerized environments.
  • Write unit and integration tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain clear API documentation.
  • Optimize application performance, logging, and reliability for production workloads.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of professional backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong understanding of REST API design, microservices concepts, and the Spring ecosystem (Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Spring Security).
  • Solid experience with relational databases, ORM (Hibernate/JPA), and query optimization.
  • Basic working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, S3, and RDS for deployment and storage.
  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD workflows, and Git-based collaboration.
  • Good grasp of OOP, data structures, testing practices, and clean code principles.
  • Strong debugging, documentation, and team collaboration habits.
